DoomSkillz (TJ Norton x Dskillz Harris) x Odd Memories (Album Review)

16215901_1232443443509563_1493220569_nOdd Memories is a collective of new and old styles between brothers. Tj Norton and Dskillz Harris, two of the many members out the multi divisional hip hop group DBL (Down By Law) have created a energy between the two over the past year that has manifested into unique mix tracks. What also makes this project unique is that its title is a ode to the former super group Odd Future, which played a big part in the early parts of the groups early development.

Favorable Tracks:

Clienetle: One of the most standout tracks, no doubt one of my favorite joints on the EP, Oriris screaming “Can You Dig It” from the cult classic flick “The Warriors,” both artist demolish the track with a insanely impressive flow. Both emcees were in the moment, going bar for bar in a true Wu Gambino fashion.

40 Wave Caps: The album really comes together with this track, another personal favorite joints, it has that OF feel mixed with hard east coast bars.

Motherless Child Cypher Feat Nate Hudson x Milofuko (Default Universe): A collective cypher of unique emcees over the perfect RZA beat makes for a fresh cypher.

Who’s World Is This: The two emcee’s once again give 100% hip hop fan fare with a smooth joint. Paying homage to the new school with a flip on a classic Nas joint, the duo goes in and makes one hell of a hip hop song.

In addition to some really good  production work from producer/emcee and group member D.M.D , Shy Guy , Random Black Guy, and ESC. Doomskillz even covered some really dope beats from J.Dilla, Count Bass D , Jaz-O, The Alchemist and RZA. DoomSkillz is available now!
